Terms of Use

Last updated: May 2026

Acceptance

By accessing or using TherapyCoach, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What TherapyCoach is

TherapyCoach is a clinical skills training simulator designed for educational purposes. It uses AI to generate fictional simulated clients and provide coaching feedback on therapeutic technique. It is intended for use by clinicians, counsellors, and support workers as a training tool.

What TherapyCoach is not

TherapyCoach is not a therapeutic service, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional clinical supervision. It does not provide clinical advice. All simulated clients are entirely fictional and do not represent real individuals. Coaching feedback is generated by AI and should be considered as one input among many in your professional development — not as authoritative clinical guidance.

Appropriate use

TherapyCoach is designed for practising therapeutic skills in a safe, simulated environment. You agree to use it for training and educational purposes only. You must not enter real client information, identifiable personal data, or any content that relates to actual clinical cases into the application. You must not attempt to use the platform to obtain clinical advice for real situations, or to simulate interactions with real individuals.

AI-generated content and model disclosure

TherapyCoach uses OpenAI's GPT-4o model to generate simulated client responses and coaching feedback. All session content is AI-generated. While the system is calibrated against established clinical frameworks (including MITI 4.2.1 for MI, CTS-R for CBT, and DBT adherence criteria), AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or responses that do not reflect best clinical practice in every instance. You are responsible for applying your own clinical judgement to all feedback and content generated by the platform. For details on our AI model, safety guardrails, and regulatory alignment, see our AI & Compliance page.

AI safety guardrails

TherapyCoach includes built-in safety measures to maintain appropriate boundaries for a training tool. These include crisis language detection that provides immediate safety messaging and helpline information, content filtering to keep interactions within the scope of clinical training, and clear disclaimers throughout the application. These guardrails reduce risk but are not infallible. If you encounter content that appears inappropriate or harmful, please report it to support@therapycoach.app.

What data we store

When you use TherapyCoach, we store data linked to your account to support your training experience. This includes: your email address and account credentials; your session configuration choices (modality, field, skill level); conversation transcripts from practice sessions, including coaching feedback; session completion records, competency ratings, and learning pathway progress; drill attempts and lesson completion records; and subscription status if applicable. Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

How we use your data

Your data is used to operate the service, support your learning progression, and allow you to review past sessions. We also use aggregated, de-identified engagement data to understand how the platform is performing and to improve the product. We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party. The only external service that receives your data is OpenAI, which processes conversation content to generate AI responses. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Account and access

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Do not share your login credentials. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any account that violates these terms.

Intellectual property

TherapyCoach, including its clinical content, coaching frameworks, client scenarios, and user interface, is the intellectual property of Georgia Murphy (ABN pending). You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the application or its content without written permission.

Subscriptions and payment

TherapyCoach may offer paid subscription plans. Where a subscription includes a free trial period, you will not be charged until the trial ends. You may cancel your subscription at any time before the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access until that period expires. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. Prices may change with reasonable notice.

Refunds

If you are not satisfied with the service, you may cancel your subscription at any time. Because TherapyCoach is a digital service that provides immediate access on subscription, refunds are generally not available for periods already paid. However, if you experience a significant technical issue that prevents you from using the service, or if you believe the service was materially different from what was described, contact us at support@therapycoach.app and we will assess your request fairly and promptly.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded by agreement. If the Australian Consumer Law applies to your use of TherapyCoach, you may be entitled to a remedy (such as a refund, replacement, or compensation) if the service fails to meet a consumer guarantee — for example, if the service is not provided with due care and skill, or is not fit for the purpose for which it was acquired. For a full overview of the Australian regulatory frameworks that inform TherapyCoach, see our AI & Compliance page.

Complaints and feedback

If you are unhappy with any aspect of TherapyCoach — including the quality of coaching feedback, clinical content, billing, or your experience using the platform — we want to hear from you. Contact us at support@therapycoach.app and we will respond within 5 business days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the relevant consumer protection body in your jurisdiction. In Australia, this is the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) or your state or territory fair trading office.

Data deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@therapycoach.app from the email address associated with your account. On receipt of a verified deletion request, we will remove your account, all session transcripts, progress data, and any other personal information within 30 days.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TherapyCoach is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind beyond those required by the Australian Consumer Law. We are not liable for any clinical decisions made based on coaching feedback or training received through the platform. The application is a training tool and does not replace professional supervision, peer consultation, or clinical governance structures. You acknowledge that AI-generated content may be inaccurate and agree not to rely on it as your sole source of clinical guidance.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated through the application at least 14 days before taking effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute arising under these terms is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
